First few trys

Well, I have been playing as much friendly game with them as possible with the halter and rope in hand. I lost my stuff in the fire and so I have been watching you tube and trying to remember! I know the first game is friendly and then porcupine, then driving, then yo-yo, then circling, then sideways, then squeeze. I think! So it is very obviouse I need to repurchase my stuff. Although I am a little confused as to weither I need to purchase the second addition to level one or if i should purchase the entire patterns kit which is on sale for a great deal rite now....
Anyway, I went out yesturday and took Leo out of the pen to play some more friendaly game with the carrot stick and savvy string and as usuall no cares just stood there the entire time.
so then I sitched out for Blondie. The kids were driving their quad around and it was starting to get dark so she was pretty worried. So i just brushed her and walked her around a bit and then brought her back. By then my time was up and had to head back to town.
Today, they all came to the fence and as soon as I got their with the halter they all took of as Cassie is our alpha mare. So I tried to play the catching game and it was very obviouse that I need to touch up on that again. Finally they came to the fence and I took Leo first as he is always so eager for attention. We did the same again and he once again did great. I got a little louder with the carrot stick and savvy string. I also put my shitzu Kia on his back and that didn't fiz him either although my pup was shaen a bit. I then switched out for Cassie, brought her out and let Brianna brush her and give her oats and just hang with her a bit and then also aloud her to bring her back down to the pasture as I watched. I am so excited to get parelling with my kids. Then I took Blondie out. As the kids were already done with the quad we walked up no problems. We brushed and played some friendly games and she did super. I took some pics and the first two flashes she jumped a little but didn't take of like yesturday! I wish I had a little more time with them and that they were in my back yard. But am still excited. Then it was time to go as we had the neighbour boy with us and he had to be back. Can't wait till the weekend... it is suppose to be nice all weekend... and as the kids have no school monday I am hoping to take it off as well!

Getting back into Parelli

Well, after a long time away I have decided to persue my first love again. I began last week making it a priority to see my horses every day. So after the kids get home from school we head out there. They have not seen us alot but always meet us at the gate... I started with getting myself more comfortable with them. I took some of my parelli stuff out of the barn and took it home to wash it up and clean it up.

I have three horses rite now and considering a fourth.

Cassie has been with me the longest, she is a sorrel14'2 quarter horse cross mare who is around 15 years old. I got her from a horse trader. She was great. We rode her in parades around the rodeo grounds... my daughter even rode her there and never had a problem. Since she has gotten a little grumpy ole age maybe. So I really work with her as my 10 yr old Daughter, Brianna considers Cassie her mare. Brianna also wants to do Parelli as she is a horse lover like her mom!

Leo was purchased as a yearling at an auction. I saw him come into the ring and totally fell in love with this little fella. He was born a little late in the year and was incredibly small... but something about him made me wanna take him home. So he is a beautiful bay with two rear white socks and has grown to be 15'2 and looks kinda like a frieght train(maybe a little fat). He is a little on the green side. He is a big puppy. I have put some time on him and he has never spooked the only problem I have is getting him to go... he is soo layed back. He has such personality. My son Byron who is 8 has called leo his horse since he was just a little guy. Unfortantly Leo is not trained enough yet for him to ride but hopefully some day soon. He really wants to ride. That is one of the reason we are considering purchasing a little 12'2 pony who has some level one in Parelli.

Blondie(who's name i think we should change) is a beautiful 15'2 palomino mare who has completly stolen my heart. I bought her from southern Alberta. She was a barrel racing at the time which I thought I might get into... So she seemed a little much for me to begin with. And I still need to improve my riding and confidence. She is a little flight at first but also seems to need her trust and confidence built as well. some have told me to sell her, but she has become a part of my family not just a horse. So we will see, I am very excited for this journey and really wish we were comming into summer not winter... But there is an arena that was just finished being built just 8 miles or so from were my horses are at. So i may need to purchase a trailer. But before I start that I would like to get a little more comfortable with her as well as her a little more trusting of me!
